RE>FORMATIONS

My series Re>Formations speaks to the fragility and fleeting aspects of nature while exploring the relationship between color and detail. Working by a process of accretion, subtraction and diffusion, frozen sculptures are created by using common objects such as botanical materials found on walks that are layered with inks and dyes. The sculptures are both abstract and very particular and like scientific specimens are isolated and photographed as they thin and eventually disappear. Their existence is eternalized through the photographs created.
